Errol-Jermaine Markland also known as Nevn Minstrel is a seventeen year old musical prodigy. Born and raised in Baisley, Queens, New York, Errol was always interested in the arts. He had his first taste of artistic expression by drawing fantasy-like characters, and pictures of what seemed to be a distant reflection of himself; the character Nevn Minstrel. He then started producing his own beats at an early age, around when he was in seventh grade, and just around last year he discovered that he possessed the talent to deliver his words onto his beats, making him the ultimate self-made artist. Not only does he create his beats, but he also samples songs from artists that inspire him, and re-creates the song to sound brand new. Seems like whatever he touches turns to gold.
Nevn is EJ's alter-ego, and through his music he lives the life he wishes to witness and expresses all of the emotions that Errol is too afraid to confront in reality. Nevn is EJ's escape from the real world in to fantasy land, and from the looks of it, daydreaming isn't so bad after all.
As a senior in Martin Van Buren high school, Errol is considering going to college to enhance his musical and artistic talents. He is also forming a group together called "IcarusDrug", which consists of a couple of dreamers making songs that are also fantasy-like.
