Yes, Steve Aoki finally released his first official album on iTunes today! After putting out many singles, making music and djing for well over a decade, this album has been long overdue, but well worth the wait.
This album is an absolute trip and half. Featuring hit tracks such as “No Beef” ft. Afrojack & Miss Palmer, “Livin’ My Love” ft. LMFAO & NERVO, “Cudi The Kid” ft. Kid Cudi & Travis Barker, “Ladi Dadi” ft. Wynter Gordon, “Dangerous” ft. Zuper Blahq (Will.I.Am), and “Turbulence” ft. Laidback Luke & Lil Jon, this album is definitely the party starter. No matter where you are, whether you're at the club, in your room, or at the gym, these tracks are more than likely to get you up off your seat and moving.
Dance and all genres associated have evolved and grown to be the voice of today’s youth. Just like Dance, Wonderland is an album for this generation, the youth and even those young at heart. This is very evident in all the songs but more specifically in “The Kids Will Have Their Say” and the bonus track, “Misfits,” the two songs that differ from the others in style but still appeal to the age range in content. “Mistfits” which features Travis Barker, is also the only track in which we get to hear Steve Aoki’s own vocals, although you can barely understand what he says half the time since he’s screaming.
Even though this is one of the first Dance albums of the year, I can safely say that it’s going to be holding down the Dance Album of The Year spot, until someone else steps it up. The guy even dedicated a song to Steve Jobs and named it after him, c’mon! Definitely go buy it, blast it in the car, use it for motivation at the gym, play it at parties, or simply put it on while you’re in your room and in need of an escape into Wonderland.
