"This album is Scott, this album is Mr. Rager,... this album is REAL."

Man On The Moon II:
The Legend Of Mr. Rager

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Anger. Sadness. Happiness.  Illegal Substances. Reassurance. Honesty. If you read these words and think of the name KiD CuDi, you are absolutely right!

The way CuDi was living, how he felt about life, how he felt about himself, and how he got over all the negativity regarding his drug abuse, was revealed on November 9, 2010. "Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager" which is the sequel to "Man On The Moon: The End Of The Day", gave new and old listeners alike, an introduction to the mind of the ever troubled Scott Mescudi. Since his last album debuted, CuDi has gone through some serious trials and tribulations in his life. For example he was arrested for possession of cocaine, was seen drunk in the streets (you can thank the media for that one), and after all is said and done, he's had to wake up and realize that he has to be a man and own up to his most important responsibility, his baby daughter Vada.

Throughout the first album, CuDi took us into his dreams, told us about his desires and dragged us into his nightmares. After fifteen solid tracks of psychadelic beats, futuristic melodies and lyrics that we were able to apply to our every day lives, he left us anxious and curious for more. He left us wondering about what else could be going on, not only in his life but in his thoughts, and if he could deliver another dope album. But now the wondering is over and "Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager" does not disappoint!

CuDi welcomes listeners to his world, with his first track on the album, "Scott Mescudi Vs. The World", opening the song with the line "What up, how's everyone doing, you are now in the world I am ruling", which makes me reminisce back to his first studio album, where he also welcomes you into his dreams [listen to "In My Dreams (Cudder Anthem)" on MOTM: The End Of The Day]. In most of his songs CuDi sounds troubled, like he's spilling all of his deepest darkest secrets onto those melancholic beats. His tracks "Erase Me" and "Ashin' Kusher" bring some humor to the album, but the lyrics still have some substance to them, which keeps us pondering. This album shows just how honest and raw an artist like KiD CuDi can be, and that's possibly why CuDi decided to introduce himself and prepare listeners for what they are about to witness.

Just like his first album, this album is set up into acts, sort of like a play. His dreams, his realities, his struggles, his weed smoking, and his father, are reoccurring topics in his music (yes, including his mixtape "A Kid Named CuDi"), but he delivers it differently every single time. And every time, the lyrics get even more painful to listen to, almost depressing. I don't think CuDi want's his listeners to feel pity for him though. I think he want's his fans to get a sense of the REAL Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, the dude from Shaker Heights, Cleveland, Ohio, that lost his dad at an early age, went through and is still going through depression, and how he's dealing with everyday life. He's spilling his heart out to the fans so that just maybe, they would relate to him.

This album is Scott, this album is Mr. Rager (his alter-ego, the one on drugs and who parties all the time), this album is REAL.
